I wonder what you all think of companies/clients hiring freelancers and making that critical decision based on what they see in social networking sites such as Facebook. Let's exclude Linkedin from the list as it's a social networking site purely for professionals. Do you think that it is right to judge a person's skills or ability just because of a few lousy pictures on that person's Facebook photo album ( or tagged photos )? Discrimination?

I'm really too wary when it comes to Facebook that I only have a limited number of friends, more like a shame...if compared to those who got hundreds to thousands of friends. I can only keep less than a hundred folks...but these are people who I really know. Then, I set my privacy settings to 'friends' only so that everything about me and what I post is only viewable by people I know. Many people think that Facebook is a popularity contest. In real life, you just don't tell strangers your most intimate secrets, so why should it be any different when you're on Facebook. Besides, I've read something that one should be careful what s/he posts online for it's like posting a giant billboard for everyone to see. Yes, it's discrimination when you're judged with what you posted...but then, maybe you should have been more careful. Just my two cents ;)

I just got inside Google+ today and I'm really liking the way you can group people into circles...and the platform looks uber cool. I think that Facebook will just have to step up when it comes to their security and privacy settings, like for instance, google+ signup starts with an https://. Too bad that even with an invite, people have to wait in queue... it's a bummer, but hey, the wait is a great time for Google+ to fix bugs before they go out live to everyone...which something Facebook haven't done quite well as they would make changes without on the spot, much to your surprise..

Wow... it's great you're in.. it's like an exclusive club right now and it's been crazy that there are those who are selling invites on eBay. I think Facebook may become the next Friendster... or maybe, it will lose its fans in the U.S. and will get more famous in Asia.. just a guess, really.
