I’ve been freelancing for years and I’ve been wondering what the future of freelancing will be, so I typed in my query on Google and come across a post from The Economist called “Work in the Digital Age.” Something struck me while reading the article: ‘…millions of workers are embracing freelancing as an alternative to full-time employment or because they cannot find salaried jobs. According to IDC, a market-research firm, there were around 12m full-time, home-based freelancers and independent contractors in America alone at the end of last year and there will be 14m by 2015.’ One thing’s for sure, competition will be fiercer. How can you stand a chance when the game gets tougher?

Freelancing is the new way of doing work these days, no doubt , as more people are joining a new cult where every individual is also an entrepreneur. Still, many freelancers find themselves working way too hard but earning just a little or barely enough. What’s wrong in this picture? Together with the many freedoms of freelancing come the chains that bound a dream: Financial Freedom. Many have quit and yet, many still cling on to the hope of making a six-figure income each year. Have you been tempted to go back to work full time as an employee? 
Some people may hate Charlie Sheen and others dont; but one thing is for sure, he is an overnight success in the Twitter sphere where he gained millions of followers in just a few days’ time. I’ve been following the news lately and all these craziness that sparked a lot of controversies, even a malware in Facebook where some prankster have spread news about his death ( fake ). By looking beyond his addiction, drug-induced behavior and all those media frenzy, there’s just that ‘oomph‘ factor that freelancers can learn from this guy.

When proofreading is that fine line between looking like a pro and being sloppy, just how do you catch all those mistakes before your readers do? If you can’t hire the service of a professional proofreader, you need to learn some DIY proofreading, walk on the tightrope of grammar and read your work with total care.

For freelancers out there who would want to take advantage of this demand for mobility, know that iPhones has sold 60 million units worldwide and Android is growing in a staggering rate of 886% each year. Does the figure matter? YES, considering the millions of websites that need mobile-friendly format out there.
